Sarah E. Wesley received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her law degree from the University at Buffalo Law School. Ms. Wesley began her career as an associate at White & Case LLP, where she was assigned to multiple complex litigation cases, most notably working on the Enron bankruptcy, Medicaid price fixing, and a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigation of an international company. She subsequently moved to Upstate New York and became a prosecutor for the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, where she quickly realized that her passion lay in fighting injustices within the criminal justice system by representing the accused. As such, in 2011, she opened her own private practice, Wesley Law PC, focusing on family law and criminal defense, which later grew into Wesley Clark & Peshkin LLP. After years of working alongside ETKS partners as co-counsel, Ms. Wesley knew she wanted to diversify her practice even more by changing her career path and joining ETKS as a partner, which has allowed her to focus on practicing criminal defense at the highest possible level.

Alongside Ms. Wesley’s practice of criminal law, she continues to practice family law, regularly representing clients with cases involving divorce, child custody, juvenile delinquencies, abuse and neglect, CPS report appeals, and more. Helping families navigate difficult and challenging situations with minimal consequences is extremely important to her. Ms. Wesley also practices Collaborative Divorce as a means to reach the best solutions for both parties.  Through Collaborative Divorce work, Ms. Wesley helps her clients engage in an out-of-court negotiation process that results in a settlement that both parties are satisfied with.

Throughout her time as a criminal defense attorney, she has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to obtain successful results for her clients despite the severity of the charge. Ms. Wesley has achieved numerous acquittals for clients facing charges of murder, rape, weapons possession, and DWI, among other charges, and has reduced countless felony offenses to misdemeanor offenses.

Her career successes have not gone without recognition, being named the 2016 Rochester Women’s Network Up & Coming Businesswomen, and the 2020 Rochester’s Democrat & Chronicle Community Choice Best Divorce Attorney. Ms. Wesley is passionate about giving back to the legal community by serving as the President of the Board of Directors for the Pre-Trial Services Corporation of the Monroe County Bar Association and as the Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Monroe County Assigned Counsel Program. She is also an active member of the Monroe County Bar Association and the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys.
